1. Education, never advice
Everything in the AfriLearn AI course exists to teach. Nothing in it is legal, financial, medical, academic or other professional advice, and nothing in it creates a professional relationship between you and the course's creator. The modules that deal with law, ethics, privacy and intellectual property explain concepts for literacy purposes; they are no substitute for advice on any actual situation from a professional who knows your facts. If you have a real problem, consult a qualified person in your jurisdiction.
2. A fast-moving field
Artificial intelligence changes quickly. The course content is accurate, to the best of our knowledge, as at its most recent update, and it teaches you the one skill that outlasts any snapshot: verifying claims yourself. Specific tools, prices, model capabilities, institutional policies and laws referred to in the course may have changed since the content was written. We update the course over time, and paid students receive updates at no further charge, though we cannot warrant that every detail is current on the day you read it.
3. Third party AI tools
The course suggests hands-on exercises using third party AI tools. Those tools are independent products under their own terms of use and privacy policies. Whether you use them, which you choose, what data you give them and what they charge is your own decision and responsibility. The course deliberately requires no paid tool, and teaches you to read a tool's terms before you trust it with anything that matters.
4. About the certificate
The AfriLearn certificate is a certificate of completion issued by AfriLearn AI, a private course provider. It is unaccredited, unrecorded on the National Qualifications Framework, and carries no credit toward any degree, diploma or professional designation. Its value lies in what it verifiably proves: that the named person completed this course and passed every module assessment. Present it honestly and it will serve you well.
5. Independence
AfriLearn AI is an independent product. It is unaffiliated with, and unendorsed by, any university, professional body, regulator or AI vendor. Views expressed in the course are the creator's own.
6. External links
Where the course or site links to external websites, we control neither their content nor their availability, and a link is never an endorsement.
7. Your use, your outcomes
How you apply what the course teaches, in your studies, your work or elsewhere, remains your responsibility, including compliance with your institution's academic integrity rules, which differ between institutions and take precedence in your own context. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for outcomes of decisions you take on the strength of course content; the liability clause of the Terms of Use applies. Nothing here limits rights that consumer protection law does not permit to be limited.
